When you travel beyond the border zone or permit-free areas (such as Sonora or Baja California), you need an essential document: the Temporary Vehicle Importation Permit, issued by Banjercito, the authorized agency for this process.
What is the vehicle importation permit?
It is a temporary permit that allows foreign citizens or Mexicans residing abroad to bring a foreign vehicle into Mexico for a limited time, usually up to 180 days.
What documents do you need?
